Enhancing Students' Experiences
Over the past twenty years, this program has been called Mini-Grants and Adopt-a-Classroom. Regardless of the name, our community has consistently provided for classroom extras that make learning in Bunker Hill exceptional!


Recent Grants Funded Through BHEF

Graphic Novels
Mrs. Highfill's 6th and 7th grade language arts classes read graphic notes to help increase inference-making skills, improve memory and sequential ordering skills, and expand vocabulary.

Bookmark Making Kits
By helping students make personalized bookmarks in the library, Mrs. Perez uses bookmark making kits to encourage upper level students to feel more motivated to read for their own enjoyment.

Tracing Tables
Mrs. Heiens kindergarten class uses tracing tables and letter activity center to help students increase letter recognition and literacy skills while practicing their writing skills.

Graphing Calculators
Mrs. Albrecht-Tipler's high school math classes use graphic calculators to assist understanding of complex concepts through visualization. These tools are required for dual-credit courses.

Spanish Cultural Show
Ms. Dissen's high school Spanish students had an amazing learning experience filled with dances, foods, and culture of Hispanic countries. And everything was in Spanish!

STEM Kits
Mrs. Rull's 2nd grade classroom uses STEM kits to encourage innovative thinking, problem solving skills, cooperative learning, and creativity withing the classroom!
