2026 GRANT OPPORTUNITIES

Sydnee Tolbert's 5th Grade Class

I am requesting funding for classroom materials that will make learning more engaging, interactive, and accessible for students. The requested items include STEM and creativity kits, headphones, dry-erase sleeves, a digital clock, and mini flashlights. These resources will give students more opportunities to learn through hands-on exploration, collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving. They can be used across subjects and grade levels for enrichment, independent practice, digital learning, and interactive activities. Most importantly, these materials will help create a classroom environment where students are excited to participate, build independence, and take an active role in their learning.

Michelle Dugan's 5th Grade Class

As our classroom evolves to meet the needs of modern learners, creating a dynamic, adaptable space is essential. Following a generous update of student desks and chairs this summer, I am seeking funding for two sets of five black, stackable stools (10 stools total) to complete our learning environment. These stools will be paired with two collaborative work tables, seamlessly matching our new furniture while providing vital flexible seating options. The stackable design optimizes our physical space, allowing us to clear floor area for large-scale projects or store the seating neatly in a corner when not in use. Funding this grant directly supports active learning, peer collaboration, and efficient classroom management.

Ashley Highfill's Jr. High ELA

My class would love to have ELA manipulatives to enjoy during learning centers! Making class fun, while still learning, is important! Having tactile learning experiences allows our students to experience ELA in new ways!

Laini Bock's Jr. High ELA

I would like a classroom set of 25 over-ear headphones for my classroom. Many of my students do not have headphones, or the ones that were purchased have already broken. We use headphones frequently in my classroom for numerous reasons, such as listening to audiobooks, clarifying pronunciation of words, IXL work/ testing, STAR testing, and listening to instructions or reading assignments given to them through text-to-audio. Overall, having access to headphones within the classroom would improve student learning outcomes without creating a financial burden on district families.

Suzanne Rull's 2nd Grade Class

Every year, I do project learning based learning in Science and Social Studies. I also encourage STEM and any kind of cooperative group projects. I use a variety of items each year and need to update with a few new educational resources for my students.

Emma Gansz's Speech for PreK-8th Grade

I am a first year Speech Language Pathologist for Bunker Hill CUSD #8 District. I currently have a caseload with grades Pre-K through 8th grade. In this specific environment of speech therapy we focus on a variety of of aspect language, articulation, phonology, social skills, fluency, hearing, and cognition. To be funded through this grant would be materials that supplement all speech therapy aspects listed above. It would help by not creating just a clinical setting, but a dynamic, engaging environment tailored to the students individual needs. Having funding for interactive and hands-on tools will turn our my speech room into a fun, welcoming space where therapy feels less like extra classwork and more like a high-interest activity. Currently, due to being a first year teacher, I have limited materials and tools which can overtime make therapy repetitive. By using a variety of different materials, therapy can be fun and engaging while still focusing on the areas of concerns. These materials would help each student make great gains in the areas there are deficits present.

Shadow Collins and Erin McAfee's 3rd-8th Challenge Program

We are hoping to provide our Challenge Group with an engaging and enriching field trip opportunity this fall. The Challenge Group consists of 23 students in grades 3–8 who demonstrate high academic achievement and benefit from opportunities to extend their learning beyond the general curriculum. Students were selected based on a combination of STAR assessment scores and teacher recommendations.

Play Academy is a STEAM-accredited, educator-backed program designed to take traditional field trips to the next level by showing students that serious learning can also be seriously fun. During the field trip, students will participate in STEAM-based labs focused on areas such as strategy, health, finance, and physics. These hands-on activities will challenge students to apply their knowledge, think strategically, collaborate with others, and approach problems from new perspectives.

We believe this experience would be an excellent extension of our Challenge Group curriculum. It would provide students with an opportunity to apply academic skills in an engaging, interactive environment while further developing the critical-thinking and problem-solving skills that are central to our enrichment program.
